Woman raped in Glasgow city centre attackPolice are appealing for witnesses after a 47-year-old woman was raped in Glasgow city centre.
The incident took place on Goosedubbs Lane, off Stockwell Street, at about 0015 BST on Saturday.
Strathclyde Police said the woman was assaulted by a man she had met at the nearby Clutha Vaults pub on Friday evening.
The suspect was described as Chinese, 29 years of age and 5ft 8in tall. He was wearing casual clothing.
Officers are examining CCTV footage in an effort to obtain more information on the man responsible.
Det Insp Alan Brown said: "This lady has been subjected to a very serious sexual assault that has left her extremely upset.
"Initial enquires have revealed the victim's friends spoke with three men who stated that they had seen the victim in the company of the suspect in Stockwell Street.
"I believe that these men may hold vital information that will greatly assist our inquiries.
"They are white and spoke with local accents, and I would appeal for these three men to come forward to police as they may have information that is vital to this investigation."
